Men are not seen as good candidates for emotional harm

The Buzz word mental health seems to be lacking in support, research interest, and ongoing recognition when it relates to men. As a Canadian Certified Counselor and Counseling therapist I noticed a trend where men are becoming more marginalized. Society has promoted a false picture of how men are supposed to me if they are "real men." For this reason more men suffer in silence and refuse to ask for help. Depression, anxiety, increased drug use, more aggression, impatience, overworking, excessive alcohol use and self neglect are signs of men who need to get connected. In order for men to recover from this culturally caved in mentality and seek out professional help. In order to break this cycle men need to decide if they are going to serve ego or humility.
